🧮 How the Calculator Works ā–¼

The Gym Bro Calculator combines three mathematical models to measure your true strength:

  • Wilks Score: A powerlifting formula by Robert Wilks that compares strength across different body weights and genders.
  • McCulloch Coefficient: Adjusts strength for age. Our version modifies it so each year away from peak age (25) slightly affects your total score.
  • Epley Formula: A widely accepted equation used to estimate your one-rep max (1RM) — the maximum weight you can lift for a single repetition — based on how many reps you perform with lighter weight. This helps the calculator translate your training numbers into standardized strength values.

ā“ FAQ ā–¼

Is my score good?

Score Standards:
<100 : Non-lifter
100–200 : Beginner
200–300 : Intermediate
300–400 : Advanced
400+ : Elite

(These are rough estimates for fun, not official standards.)

How can I increase my score?

Focus on improving your powerlifting total (squat, bench, deadlift) while keeping your body weight low. Scoring yourself during a cut often improves results, since lower weight gives a better ratio.

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ’» About The Creator ā–¼

My name is Christopher Hernandez and I am a passionate software developer and fitness enthusiast. I built The Gym Bro Calculator to combine my passion for technology and lifting — by giving people an easier, more visual way to understand their strength and progress. With so many different variables such as weight, age, and maxes, it can be difficult to ultimately decide how strong you are compared to others. This site takes care of that while also making it easy to share your score and progress with friends. This site is meant to bring people together with a little friendly competition!

I’m building this creative project under my brand LL Interactive (LogicLab Interactive), a brand focused on turning innovative ideas into reality through software. Although The Gym Bro Calculator is my only project under the LLI name, I plan on taking it much further down the road. Your support and feedback is greatly appreciated.

With gratitude to Jerson Lopez for his assistance in advertising and project direction.
